This 1989 Jaguar XJS convertible is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and is finished in New Glacier White over Barley leather upholstery. It was sold new in Vermont and spent time in New York before it was acquired by the seller in 2012. Equipment includes a power-operated brown soft top, 15″ basketweave alloy wheels, automatic climate control, fog lights, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo. This XJS shows 33k miles and is offered at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, service records, two Best-in-Class awards, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in New Glacier White and features a power-operated dark brown soft top with a glass rear window, a front air dam, chrome accents and side mirrors, front fog lights, and dual exhaust outlets. Adjustments were made to the door latches, and the driver-side door sill and antenna motor have been replaced recently according to the seller. Paint chips are noted around the body, and the underside of the convertible top is stained.

Basketweave-style 15″ alloy wheels wear Jaguar center caps and 235/60 Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires. The car is equipped with independent suspension and four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes.

The interior seating surfaces and door panels are upholstered in Barley leather, and burl wood veneers accent the dashboard, center console, and doors. Amenities include cruise control, an onboard computer, automatic climate control, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo. The seats have reportedly been reupholstered under current ownership, and the seller reports that the air conditioning was recharged, the cruise control was repaired, and a window motor was replaced recently. A blemish can be seen in the wood trim on the center console, the cassette player does not function, and the seller notes the seat heaters are not connected and the driver’s lumbar support bladder does not fill.

A leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The odometer shows 33k miles, approximately 9k of which have been added by the seller.

The 5.3-liter V12 produced 262 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque when new. The throttle bushings, cooling fan, MAP hose, oil pressure sending unit, PCV valve, hood insulation pad, drive belts, and battery fasteners have been replaced according to the seller, who notes engine oil seepage.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. The transmission mount has reportedly been replaced.

The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate shows factory specifications and indicates a build date of April 7, 1989.

Lot #157940

The car is finished in New Glacier White and features a power-operated dark brown soft top with a glass rear window as well as a matching boot cover, a front air dam, front fog lights, and dual exhaust outlets. The driver-side door sill and antenna motor were reportedly replaced before the seller’s acquisition.

Silver-finished 15″ cross-spoke alloy wheels are mounted with 235/60 Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires, and a spare wheel with a vinyl cover is located in the trunk. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel anti-lock discs. The front wheel bearings were replaced in June 2024, according to the seller.

The seating surfaces are upholstered in Barley leather, and burl wood veneers accent the dashboard, center console, and doors. Appointments include cruise control, an onboard computer, a replacement soft top headliner, and automatic climate control. The seats were reportedly re-trimmed under previous ownership, and work performed prior to the seller’s acquisition is said to have included repairing the cruise control and replacing a window motor. There is a blemish in the wood trim on the center console, the seat heaters are not connected, and the driver’s lumbar support bladder does not fill.

A leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline as well as gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 33k miles, approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership.

The 5.3-liter V12 was factory rated at 262 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque. The throttle bushings, cooling fan, MAP hose, oil pressure sending unit, PCV valve, hood insulation pad, drive belts, battery fasteners, and transmission mount are said to have been replaced under previous ownership, and the air conditioning compressor was replaced in April 2024, according to the seller.

The framed Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate lists colors, identification numbers, and a build date of 7 April 1989. Awards, manufacturer’s literature, service records, and a die-cast XJ-S model are included in the sale.

Car returns to BaT

bringatrailer.com/listing/1989-jaguar-xj-s-v12-convertible-13-2/

Auction description:

Seller: ruudzwaans

Location: Stuart, Florida 34997

Chassis: SAJNV4840KC161473

Lot #164711

This 1989 Jaguar XJ-S V12 convertible was acquired by the seller on BaT in November 2022, and it now shows 33k miles. Powered by a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, the car is finished in New Glacier White over Barley leather upholstery. It also has a limited-slip differential, a dark brown soft top, silver-finished 15″ cross-spoke alloy wheels, power-adjustable seats, cruise control, a cassette stereo, an onboard computer, and automatic climate control. This XJ-S V12 convertible is now offered at no reserve with a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, awards, manufacturer’s literature, service records, a car cover, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.

This is a relist after the vehicle was previously sold on BaT in August 2024 and the winning bidder failed to follow through with their commitment to purchase. This was not due to any fault with the vehicle. The winner’s participation on BaT has been restricted and their buyer’s fee was not refunded.

Otherwise same as above.
