Supplied new by Drabble & Allen of Manchester in August 1991, this lovely XJS V12 has been in the current ownership since 2011 and has covered some 93,600 miles to date with an excellent service history comprising 14 stamps in the book, the last at 85,339 miles in 2003, plus many invoices for subsequent upkeep.
Our vendor has always kept the car garaged and used it in fine weather only, spending more time fettling and polishing the car than actually driving it, covering only 1,000 miles in the last 8 years. Shortly before he acquired it, the XJS had been treated to some localised bodywork repairs and a full repaint in the original Flamenco Red which was done to a high standard and still looks good today.
Improvements in the current ownership include a full suspension overhaul with new Spax shocks and new springs at the front, four new shocks at the rear and new polybushes where required. The brakes have been overhauled with new front discs, new pipes and new handbrake pads. The power steering oil cooler has also been renewed, the radiator recored, the wheels refurbished plus numerous other jobs.
Starting promptly and running sweetly as we moved it around for these photos, this smartly presented XJS has an MOT to June 2020, retains all its original handbooks, two sets of keys and is only reluctantly for sale due to lack of use. The personalised XJ number plate is also included and the car even has heated front seats – what more could you want?
