Auction description:
Lot number 89
Hammer value £1250
Description Jaguar XJ-S 3.6
Registration F545 DRJ
Year 1988
Colour Red
Engine size 3,590 cc
Chassis No. SAJJNAEC3CA150947

First registered on 1st August 1988, this Burgundy metallic XJ-S comes with a full service history to verify the c.80,000 miles that is showing on the clock. The car is fitted with a TWR bodykit which adds a sporty touch to an already impressive looking machine. With a current MOT and tax, the car is said to drive very well and to be in good condition throughout although we are advised that at certain speeds there is a noise from the rear diff which is thought to indicate a worn bearing.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
