Ebay item 12/1/17 www.ebay.com/itm/1976-Jaguar-XJS/253287240594
Car has a buy it now price of $3,000 for days, seller wallstantiquesmidland, 113k miles.
Sellers description:
We are an antiques store located in Midland Texas. We are selling this vehicle AS IS, it is not running and has not run for quite some time, it has been garage kept for quite some time now (5+ years from what we understand), this 1976 Jaguar XJS that would make a great project car, the body is straight, we found no visible rust, the best thing would be for the buyer to come see the car in person.
This car originally came with a V12 engine, according to the deceased owners son the engine in this Jaguar now is a Chevy 350 CID 4 BBL with an automatic transmission, the problem is we can not get the hood open to take a look or take pictures. We did some research and it is not uncommon for people to swap out the V12 for a Chevy V8. The vehicle was once a daily driver and right now is not running and hasn't ran for a while. According to the son their was nothing mechanically wrong with the car last time it ran and it leaked no fluid. It does however have a couple of issues they could tell us about, one of the keys broke off in the trunk lock so we cannot get the trunk open, also they told us it has some kind of electrical issue with the taillights and turn signals. The exterior paint on the car is brown, which is a newer paint job, we are uncertain if this was the original color or a different color. The interior is navy blue leather and is in fair condition, an aftermarket CD player radio has been installed in this vehicle. The car features power windows, air conditioning, and power locks. The car/chassis number for this car is UG2W50351BW, we are unsure of the engine number, body number or gearbox number for the car since we can not get into the engine bay. The cars serial number is 50351.
