Ebay item 1/22/18
www.ebay.com/itm/1990-Jaguar-XJS/302610971760
Opening bid US $7,000, no reserve, no bids 6 days left in auction, seller avapmj, 44k miles.

Sellers description:
This auction is for a very clean 1990 Jaguar XJS in one of the best color combinations. This is a rust free very straight car with only one very small door ding in the quarter panel behind passenger door. Paint shines well, is in good condition and mostly original. There is a small area directly behind the passenger door as well as a section on the hood that has been resprayed. The color match on these sections is not perfect but not very noticeable unless you are looking for it. Interior is original and in good condition with no tears, there is some wear on the drivers seat but not much. Top is in good condition and functions as it should. Odometer reads 032,906 and there is a tag on the drives door jamb dated 03/04/97 stating that the odometer was replaced at 12,000 miles so I believe the correct actual mileage is about 44,906 but can't guarantee this. New camshaft cover gaskets, camshaft plugs and intake manifold gaskets were installed about 2,000 miles ago. Engine runs well and runs cool it never gets hot and transmission shifts smoothly. Tires are also good.
Car just passed California smog check about two weeks ago so it is good to go if sold in California.
The following items need attention:
1. The air conditioning blows but not cold (heater works well) so I think it needs to be recharged, It had previously been converted to 134A.
2. Trip computer / clock does not operate properly, it powers up but will loose its memory when car is shut off. I see these advertised here on eBay for between $50-$100 frequently.
3. Fog lights are inoperative, I suspect that it is just the bulbs or perhaps a relay but never checked it out.
4. Antenna dose not extend or retract automatically, the motor runs but the mast doesn't move with the motor but can be raised and lowered by hand easily.
5. Transmission has a small oil leak not enough where I have to add more then a little bit in a years time. This car has a GM 400 transmission and I think the issue is just a pan gasket but the leak is so small I haven't bother to investigate since I only add a small amount once a year.
6. Small tear in the rubber cover on rear bumper.

Lot #79461

This 1990 Jaguar XJS is a Classic Collection Edition finished in red over tan leather upholstery and is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 linked with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a power-operated black soft top, basketweave 15″ alloy wheels, heated and power-adjustable seats, power windows and door locks, automatic climate control, an AM/FM cassette stereo, and a fabricated exhaust system. The car was acquired by the seller’s father in July 2021, and subsequent work is said to have included rebuilding the rear brake assemblies as well as replacing the window servos, crankshaft position sensors, and transmission pump. This XJS V12 is now offered by the seller on behalf of his father with manufacturer’s literature, a Carfax report, and a clean California title.

The car is finished in red and features impact bumpers with chrome trim, chrome mirror housings, fog lights, a power antenna, and dual exhaust outlets. The Carfax report notes a November 2003 damage report resulting in damage to the right-front corner of the vehicle. The seller states that the right-front fender, hood, and right-rear quarter panel have been refinished. Noted flaws include a crack in the front grille insert, a dent in the rear bumper, and blemishes in the paint.

Basketweave 15″ alloy wheels are mounted with 235/60 Hankook Kinergy ST tires. The car is equipped with a fully independent suspension and four-wheel antilock disc brakes. The rear brake assemblies are said to have been rebuilt during current ownership.

The heated and power-adjustable seats are upholstered in tan leather with red piping, while wood veneer trim accents the dashboard, door panels, and center console. Additional amenities include a lockable glovebox, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, and power windows and door locks. The seller states that the window servos were replaced under current ownership. Wear is visible on the seating surfaces, the driver’s seat power-adjustable lumbar support is inoperative, and the parking brake warning light remains illuminated whether the brake is engaged or disengaged.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and ancillary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 37k miles, approximately 600 of which were added under current ownership. The speedometer/odometer assembly was replaced at approximately 12k miles in March 1997, and the Carfax report notes a potential odometer rollback in December 1998. Total mileage is unknown.

The 5.3-liter V12 was factory rated at 262 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque, and power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. The crankshaft position sensors, transmission pump, and engine and transmission seals are said to have been replaced in preparation for the sale.

The car is equipped with a fabricated exhaust system.
