For consignment something to put some excitement into your derriere, a Jaguar XJS. This 4-passenger sports car with its inline 6 cylinder power plant can be a slight bit of a handful when it comes to pushing you down the superhighway, all in luxurious comfort. A tasteful mixture of beige tones, Signal Red exterior, and English burl, along with some innovative use of technology, and we are going for a ride in Jaguar British style. Its final year and taking a bow, a 2-owner car for its lifetime, and mere 34,479 miles put on the ticker, all original paint, clean Carfax, mint condition interior, and lots of power conveniences. Meeeeoooooowww!

Exterior
This low slung British skate is bathed in Signal Red, and there is little of a fault on this cool cat. Gaps are excellent throughout all steel rust free panels. Chrome trimmings for headlight bezels, wheel well surrounds, windshield trim and taillight surrounds are also all excellent. A tan canvas convertible power up and down top has a glass rear window, and no marks or tears to be seen. A 2 plus 2-seater car with plenty of room upfront for the engine under a raging bonnet, passengers in the middle, and boot space abounds too! Throw in dual chrome tipped exhausts and 16-inch Jaguar alloy wheels, and we have the makings of luxury sport. When the top is down, a near perfect beige boot seamlessly covers the downed top and compliments the red exterior. Quite Right, You're bloody well right.

Interior
Simply put, mint although not in color, were talking condition. Beige leather abounds with true actual walnut burl to create a luxurious environment fit for a discriminating driver. Nice comfy, puffy padded seats with a seamless headrest popping out the top show no marks from use. A beauty of a central console with some of that walnut burl inset around the shifter which also shows cruise control, window toggles, a roof toggle, and dual ash receptacles. As the center console rises to the dash, a factory radio is mounted neatly within along with climate controls, running lights, defogger and exterior lighting. The shiny inset walnut for the gauge cluster is just pristine and shows very clean black faced gauges with white numbers and letters and white pointers. A wood and molded vinyl steering wheel is fronting the dash. Door panels show in beige vinyl with more walnut burl trimmings, power seat adjustments, storage pulls and a chromed bezels speaker within a field of taupe color carpet. The floors are covered with dark taupe colored Wilton carpeting and sport lighter protective floor mats to keep staining and dirt to a minimum.

Drivetrain
A pop of the long bonnet and it reveals a very clean and well-kept engine bay with an overall very light patina. Within its confines is a shiny, no corrosion 4.0 Liter inline 6-cylinder engine. It is fed by electronic fuel injection and has a 4-speed automatic (ZF4HP24E) original overdrive transmission with a rear axle of 3.54 gearing. All capitol condition under here. Me droogs and mates!

Undercarriage
Slight patina, but no road dirt, or surface rust seen on all the essentials. Independent suspension for front and rear, and power disc brakes on all 4 corners. A stock exhaust is on and shows some slight surface rust.

Drive-Ability
With my hankering for anything British, I hopped behind the wheel, fired this car up and drove off to the test track. Great acceleration, wonderful handling, straight braking when pressed hard, and a smooth cruiser. A/C blew ice cold, courtesy a new condenser, dryer and compressor and all power accessories were functional.

The last year of production of the XJS and they really have gotten it all correct. Design, which is sporty, yet luxurious, nice efficient power, and a truly high end interior with the leather and burl. And the top going up and down does not hurt either. Let's go for an afternoon tool through the countryside and stop off for some homemade toad in the hole. Yeah Baby!!

This 1996 Jaguar XJS is an original. The owner has had it for 1 year. The vehicle runs great and is mainly used for weekend drives. This Jaguar is in excellent condition. In 2022 it has had over 15k in maintenance and upgrades. The stereo has a custom GPS touchscreen install ($1200), Beverly hills motors floor mats ($1000), facelift headlights replaced($2000), hood and front bumper removed and fully repainted, ($3000), new burlwood installed ($2000), new air conditioning, most of the lights both interior and exterior have been upgraded to led. Before these updates the car was practically mint condition. I have the original headlights, stereo and burlwood.
