This Jaguar XJS Convertible is a stylish modern classic British roadster, presented in an attractive factory colour scheme. 

It is powered by the 4.0-litre ‘AJ16’ straight-six, producing around 238hp and 382Nm which is sent to the rear wheels via a smooth four-speed ZF automatic transmission. 

Originally a US-market example, this XJS is now located in Occitanie, France. 

The seller reports that the registration process has been carried out at that they are waiting for the Carte Grise to be issued. 

The odometer shows 86,359 miles. 

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES 

This handsome XJS is finished in Sapphire Blue paintwork with a complementary dark blue convertible hood, over a cream leather-trimmed interior punctuated by wood veneer inlays on the dashboard, centre console, and door cards. 

It rides on a set of 16-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, shod in Sumic GT60A tyres. 

Factory-fitted equipment includes an electrically operated convertible hood, heated and electrically adjustable front seats with two-position driver memory, automatic speed control, air conditioning, and a Jaguar-branded stereo with a boot-mounted CD changer. 

Aftermarket additions include front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, and a battery isolator switch. 

The car will be supplied with its owner’s manuals and service books, and a selection of maintenance invoices and receipts. 

CONDITION 

The US CARFAX report shows “very minor damage” to the front left corner in 2005, while still in Florida. 

Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition. 

Specific notes from the seller include: the paint is excellent, it benefitted from a full exterior respray in 2019 including the repainting of the white coach lines. There are two small chips in the windscreen and minor scratches on the corner of the front bumper. The interior is in good condition, though there are some cracks on the walnut veneer door trim. The two front seats have been reupholstered. The original interior code was used to dye the new leather, however the colour is slightly lighter than the rear seats as the rear seats were dyed 25 years ago, so they have weathered with time.  

The seller notes that the driver's side window sometimes sticks, but the switch just needs lifting and wiggling, and that a new switch was installed in 2020. 

The car’s last inspection of roadworthiness was conducted in July 2023, during which the seller reports that no warnings or advisory items were noted. 

SERVICE HISTORY 

This XK-S’ latest service was carried in July 2023 by Ernesto's Cars, Villespassans, France. The work comprised of a minor service with an engine oil and filter change, along with the replacement of the number plate light bulbs. 

Prior to this, the car was serviced in 2021, which included an engine oil and filter change, along with the replacement of a brake calliper, brake fluid, electric fan, and relay, as well as the addition of some anti-leak fluid. 

Another service was performed in 2020, which included the replacement of the alternator and the front brake disks. 

The seller notes that during their ownership the car has been fitted with a new battery, brake kit, bezel switch, wheel bearings, head gasket, brake discs, front shock absorbers, reversing sensors, door trim, window regulator, and door light, and a repair has been carried out on the roof catch.
