Ebay item 6/6/17 www.ebay.com/itm/1995-Jaguar-XJS-/162542875021
Current bid US $6,541, no reserve, 15 bids 6 days left in auction, seller doctor0594, 51k miles.
Sellers description:
This is a NO RESERVE listing.
A change in my storage situation is forcing me to sell some cars from my 35+ pc. collection.
I looked for a CLEAN XJS for a long time- and found this wonderful California car a few years ago. Triple Black is deadly on Jags, and this car is no exception!
The previous owner, according to the details I got when I bought it, drove the car mostly on weekends for golf outing. Parked in the California sun with the top down, the super lw mileage car did suffer a bit of clear-coat oxidization as well as some cracking of the front seat leather and wood trim. The convertible top and top boot were worn from the sun as well. They undertook a VERY expensive reconditioning, giving the car a decent base-coat/clear-coat black paint finish, retrimming the front seats in glove-soft leather, installing a brand new Jaguar brand stayfast top and sourcing a brand new Jaguar brand top boot and carrying bag. The four wheels were media blasted, trued and resprayed, and new wheel centers were sourced from the local Jag dealer.
Since I have owned it I have had a complete brake service done, had the top hydraulics rebuilt and had the wood reconditioned by the great British Heritage Woodworks.
The result is a car that really looks, feels and SMELLS brand new. Only 51,000 miles on this chassis and engine, and it purrs like the cat that she is. The original Jag radio was professionally replaced by a really high end Blaupunkt unit, and the old Jag radio IS INCLUDED with the purchase.
If you've been looking I feel that this car is in better condition both mechanically and cosmetically than 95% of the XJS' out there. My only issue is I do still feel the car could use a good professional color sanding and buff-out. It looks like a brand new car int he sun, but in the shade sometimes I think it still could use a bit better buff- Maybe I'm just a perfectionist.
The car comes with both original keys, the Stayfast top boot and cover for the boot, the original jack roll and manual and the original radio. I did get a rather thick stack of receipts for this car that I had added my $4200 worth of recent work to, but I simply cannot find them.. so after much looking I will say the condition should say a lot about this car, but i do not have complete service records. If I DO find them I will relist the car with scans of the receipts, but for now take this auction at face value.
I drive this car several times a week so the mileage will be slightly higher than listed when you purchase it. I would not be afraid to drive this car ANYWHERE- so fly in from ANYWHERE and drive er home! A/C works great, top hydraulics like new- rear window defroster works perfect and the Blaupunkt sounds great!
Also do not that the motion of the top has made two small tears in the rear of the driver's side rear headrest- I've pictured it quite clearly but wanted to be sure you were aware of any defects. The car also comes with a battery tender installed to keep the car charged during storage.
