This 1995 Jaguar XJS Convertible has the smooth and strong Jaguar AJ16 4.0-liter six-cylinder engine, which was the brand’s last inline-six. The car is presented by the selling dealer as a two-owner car with a clean Carfax and no known accidents. “Everything works 100 percent, including cold air conditioning,” he says. The car received new tires and brakes, and a fresh oil change, per the dealer, who says he can help international buyers with shipping if needed.
The selling dealer believes the engine to be original in the XJS, with no rebuilds. He affirms a quick, reliable cold start and indicates no smoke, leaks, or weeps. Likewise, no issues are reported for the transmission, which he says shifts “flawlessly.” Photos show a light patina in the engine compartment consistent with the car’s age and mileage.
The selling dealer rates the black paint (code PDT) as a “9 out of 10,” with no blemishes indicated. Photos support this and also show the folding top to be in excellent condition. The dealer reports that the power top works “fine” with “no issues” for the glass and seals. He says rust has never been an issue on the car. Photos show a clean underside with minimal surface oxidation visible in just a few spots. All lighting is affirmed to work.
This car features sumptuous looking Coffee leather (code SDC), which the selling dealer rates as “very good with no rips." Photos show what seems to be an impeccably maintained cabin. The burled walnut trim does not show signs of cracking or delamination, and only minor wear is seen on the front seats’ outer bolsters. Carpeting appears to be in very good condition, and the door panels show no damage or unsightly marks from shoes, in the photos. The convertible top’s headliner also appears to be in very good condition, and seat adjustments are said to work properly. The carpeted trunk, which includes a matching spare tire cover, appears to be in very clean condition. All interior systems are working properly, per the selling dealer, including air conditioning, heat, power locks and windows, and what appears to be the original stereo.
This Jag’s chassis needs no attention, according to the selling dealer. New brakes and Federal Formoza tires were recently installed, he adds. Notably, by 1993, Jaguar had switched the rear disc brakes to a conventional outboard location from the previous hard-to-service inboard setup.
The selling dealer states that it will provide a clean and open New Jersey title for the proper transfer of ownership for this vehicle. Additional documentation includes a Carfax vehicle history report and service records. This two-owner 1995 Jaguar XJS Convertible exemplifies how this model became even more desirable in its final years.
