Ebay item 2/21/11 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1992-Jaguar-XJS-Low-Miles-Stunning-V12-40k-Original-/110 ... Current bid $3,700 reserve not met, 14 bids 4 days left in auction. Sellers description: This is an original 40,000 mile car. It has been pampered in California it's whole life. There is not a spec of rust to be found. This car is totally unmolested. I have had the pleasure of driving this car for the last couple of weeks and have found it to be incredibly sound and reliable. There have been more miles put on this car during my care than have been put on it for the last several years. This is a very nice touring vehicle. I have given it a very thorough inspection and only needed to replace the upper shock bushings in the front end. The chassis and suspension are very tight, smooth and rattle-free. There is no smoke, no engine noises, no oil leaks and no transmission issues. He has had it garaged for the last few years of it's life, having only put less than 1000 miles on it since his knee and back surgeries. It starts, runs and drives as new. The body is very straight and the paint shows brilliantly for only having a car wash cleaning. The interior is nearly flawless. The driver seat shows some wear as seen in the pictures. The wood trim on the shift console has some crazing around the gear shifter. The Jaguar emblem on the rear deck lid is ordered and will be replaced before the auction is over. The dash shows no signs of cracking and the instrument cluster shows brilliantly. All electrical accessories work, including the heated seats, and all the functions for adjusting them. Electric antenna works, power mirrors, etc. , etc. The only issues I've found is that the park brake lever does not ratchet any longer, and the park brake lamp stays on. Im sure this is an easy fix, as this is very common to this car. The other issue is the fuel sending unit in the tank. As you corner, the fuel gauge will fluctuate between full and empty for a brief period and will right itself shortly after. Other than that, the car comes with a clean title and current registration. Original spare tire and complete tool kit inclued. It will have a clean and current smog certificate included in the sale. All manuals that came with the car when new will be included.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
