62,479 MILES
ON EBAY 04/07
SELLER WRITES:
There is alot of information following regarding this car so please read the entire ad and email me for additional information.
I purchased with the intension of restoring it, but being a classic model myself do not have the ability or time to do for it what it needs without paying someone to do the work. It appears that the car was parked in late 2005 with running problems.
The car is currently at a very reputable Jaguar only service shop in Northern Virginia. They have been over the car from top to bottom, they have serviced my previous Jaguar's and I trust them completely.
The exact mileage is not known when I bought the car I was not informed that the car's odometer did not work, as at the time the car was not running and I had no way to check it out. I trusted the seller, my mistake. The car does have alot of good points and diffently loads of possibilities.
One of the best points is that the car has had the leather seats redone, new headliner, carpets appear new along with door panels. Some of the burl is pealing on the door panels but appears in good shape on the dash and console. The dash has minor cracks. The glass is original and intack. Mechancial work done in 2005 includes the following:
• Inner and out wheel bearing.
• Lower ball joints.
• Power steering belt.
• Repair to Left exhaust, adapter
The following work has been since 2/2007
• Gas tank drained and cleaned.
• All engine fluids drained, flushed and replaced.
• Complete tuneup, including plug wires, filters, etc.
• Car now starts and runs but has noise in engine.
This car could be great for a chevy conversion or continue the restoration. The body has had rust repaired in the rear quarter panels, but is just starting to come back. The paint has some spider webs here and there but other than that the body appears straight. The crome is in great condition along with other outside trim. I was advised that there was a small area of rust through on one side of the floor pans but, I have not seen it. I was also advised that it is repairable and the bottom of the car should be undercoated.
This is such a great vintage car, almost qualifies for antique tags, it needs to be restored and loved for the wonderful creation that it is. Who wants a Jaguar that is really a Ford. Sure the older original cars have problems but they are in a class of their own.
