The car is finished in black over tan leather upholstery and fitted with air conditioning, burl wood veneers, power windows, and an aftermarket Sony CD stereo. This modified XJS is offered by the selling dealer in Louisiana with a clean Carfax report and a clean Pennsylvania title.
The car was modified under previous ownership with refinished paint, a Chevrolet grille badge, a second-generation Z28 Camaro-style hood scoop, front fender grille appliques, fiberglass rear fender flares, a rear wing, and pinstripes. A “Powered By Chevy” painted script appears on the decklid as well as “ZZ 502” painted scripts on the front fenders and decklid.
Staggered-width 16″ American Racing Torq Thrust polished alloy wheels are mounted with Sumic GT 65A front and Grand Prix Performance GT rear tires. The suspension was modified under previous ownership.
The interior is finished in tan leather with matching door panels and carpeting. Burl wood veneers accent the door panels and black dashboard. Amenities include automatic climate control, an onboard computer, power windows, cruise control, and an aftermarket Sony CD stereo.
A leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and vertical gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and voltage. The six-digit odometer shows 102k miles, 500 of which were added by the selling dealer. True mileage is unknown.
Power is provided by a retrofitted 502ci Chevrolet V8 mated to a GM TH400 three-speed automatic transmission delivering power to the rear wheels. An oil change was performed in May 2021. Engine modifications under previous ownership are said to have included:
Holley 750cfm carburetor
Exhaust headers
GM High Energy Ignition
Accel Ignition Super Coil
Modified wiring harness
A modified full dual exhaust system has exits below each side of the rear bumper. Additional underside photos are visible in the gallery below.

I am pleased to offer this 1987 Jaguar XJS. This classic Jag is a black over tobacco coupe that is powered by a Chevy 502 ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. It was purchased in 2000 by the seller who accepted it in trade toward a McLaren. The modifications were made so that it could participate in the Woodward Dream Cruise in 2010 in the Northern Communities of Detroit going from Ferndale up to Pontiac, MI. VIN # is SAJNV5845HC137412.
The jag was badged with the Chevy Bowtie emblems as a tribute to its powerplant. The hood scoop is reminiscent of the Z28 scoop of the 70’s. The rear fender flares were professionally done and give the car a sinister look. Then the 16” American Racing Wheels were added to finish off its appearance…….
An oil change was performed in May 2021. This modified XJS is now offered with partial service records, and a clean Pennsylvania title.
The modifications were done during prior ownership in 2009-10 and the seller states that some minor details were refreshed in 2020-21.
Features:
- American Racing Torq Thrust 16? polished alloy wheels
- The cabin features seats trimmed in tobacco / taupe upholstery in very nice condition
- Amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, wood trim and a Sony CD stereo
- The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and voltage. Gauges for fuel pressure are mounted adjacent to the engine.
The high performance 502 ci Chevrolet V8 was installed during the customization process in 2009-2010.
750-cfm Holley carburetor
Headers with complete dual exhaust system
HEI Ignition
Accel Ignition SuperCoil
Custom wiring harness
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a TH400 automatic transmission.
The large diameter custom dual exhaust system after the headers runs the full length and exits on either side below the rear bumper. Additional photos of the underside are provided in the gallery below.
