Ebay item 7/13/19
www.ebay.com/itm/1989-Jaguar-XJS-Tan-Leather-Burl-Walnut/233286224751
Opening bid $14,750, no bids 6 days left in auction buy it now price $18,000 seller jaguar-lover, 48k miles. Madison Heights, Michigan
Seller's description:
Seventeen years ago, I sought to purchase the most pristine condition low milage reasonably priced Jaguar XJS convertible example I could locate from southern California. I then purchased this stunning 1989, first year offered factory XJS convertible, as its second owner in 2002. Prior to my ownership the car was in and spent its entire life in southern California. Under my ownership the car was stored winters in my friend’s purpose-built climate-controlled vehicle storage facility. It is absolutely rust free; paint does not have age related issues. It looks like a show car. and has been my pride and joy, but sadly after my suffering a stroke, I can’t get in or out anymore without difficulty. Thus sadly, it is time for me to sell to another to enjoy. This vehicle has never been driven in a winter. Under my ownership, it has never been driven in the rain, and always has been garage kept. The degree of care, this XJS has received certainly is evident. The paint and body work are incredible. There are no scratches or dents whatsoever. Read that statement again. There are not even car wash spider micro scratches, as I only hand washed the car. It is like a show car level of polish. The chrome and rubber are fantastic. This car s is still sporting fresh wax applied just before winter hibernation. In summary, there are no body defects and this beauty has high polish glossy paint. I replaced the convertible top. The front spoiler is perfect without presence of cracking or road rash. The fog lamps were replaced with original brand-new old stock fog lamps. They are hard to obtain fully original without any cracks to lenses. The power windows go up and down with authority. The parade cover is original and included. It presents as new. A couple of years ago, I upgraded the original 15” wheels and tires in favor of 17” wheels/tires for a modernized more muscular stance. The chrome Jaguar brand revolver wheels look awesome. The tires have full tread with perhaps 300 miles on them. The air-conditioning system was recently upgraded with a new compressor and other components for a conversion to modern R134A freon gas. The AC blows ice cold. Oil changed regularly with Mobile 1.This kitty runs smooth and shifts like she should. Take note of the condition of the interior with awesome looking custom burl walnut steering wheel. As seen in pics, the leather looks terrific. The carpeting is spotless and Jaguar floor mats with logo are included. The only interior flaw is very minor wear to the driver’s side seat bolster. It is not torn like you see in other XJS cars of its vintage. This is a usual ware point for the seating for these cars. Just the same, the wear is far less than usual for this year and mileage. Otherwise, the leather is perfect! This car is spotless inside. The electronics all work, except for the cruise control. I never considered fixing it, as this sport luxury car is a such a pleasure to drive. This XJS is fully road worthy. I would feel comfortable driving it any distance.! You can be confident in this car, As a result of meticulous maintenance and very proactive mindful correction of known possible trouble areas of this model, this Jag is fully sorted out and has been trouble free. None of the trouble foibles present any worry, as I had a new upgraded Becool radiator installed and eliminated the crappy mechanical fan in favor of two independently controlled electric fans! This car is properly cooled. One fan is controlled by a usual thermostat and the other by a computer and sensor. My car has had each issue sorted out and oil leaking is not an issue. This car has been my pride and joy and has been my hobby and fair-weather car to enjoy for years. However, as a recovering stroke victim, it is time for me to let Kitty go, as I have trouble now getting in and out of the car after my stroke. This XJS is ready to drive and enjoy. The only issue, I can point out is that she is due for new mufflers in the near future. Can provide access to the Car Fax report so you can see for yourself the title is clear without problematic history.

Painted in satin beige metallic, this Jaguar Due to the short stroke and the bobbing along of the crankshaft at just 2500 revolutions per minute, a V12 convertible from Jaguar is more of a cozy salon tomcat than an aggressive cat of prey. The 5.3 liter displacement allows the 3-speed automatic to switch back and forth smoothly and almost unnoticed, giving the driver a casual glide along in a mobile British country castle.
The convertible originally comes from the USA and was imported and registered by the current owner. He purchased the vehicle in its original, accident-free condition and left the body visually in US standard. The XJS currently sits on a set of original chrome rims from the successor model, the XK8. The original cross-spoke rims of this XJS model are present and are of course included with the purchase and can be installed by us before sale. When opened, the canopy can be covered and protected with the included tarpaulin. We deliver the convertible with a new MOT and a new service.
