Private Party or Dealer: Dealer
This 1989 Jaguar XJS was sold new at Bauer Jaguar in Anaheim and was kept in Southern California by two owners before moving to Oregon in 2005 with 38k miles. The car remained with its third owner in Portland for the next 13+ years and was acquired by the selling dealer in October 2018. It now has just under 43k miles. The exterior is finished in Jet Black over Barley hides, and power comes from a 5.3L V12 paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission. This Jaguar is now offered by Cascadia Classic with service records back to new, the original window sticker and purchase order, factory books/brochures, two factory keys, sheepskin seat covers, a car cover, clear Carfax, and a clean Oregon title.
The exterior is finished in Jet Black and retains factory-applied “Dual Coach Stripes” pin-striping. The included Carfax does not list any prior accidents or other damage.
A set of 15″ Euro-spec Jaguar “pepperpot” alloys are fitted, and wear 215/70 Michelin tires installed less than 1k miles ago. The brake accumulator was also replaced by the seller, while the previous owner added new front brake pads and suspension bushings approximately 3k miles ago.
Inside, this XJS is trimmed in Barley leather with beige carpets and wood trim on the door panels, center console, and dashboard as pictured below. A factory AM/FM cassette stereo is retained, along with A-pillar mounted shoulder belts, a 2-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, and polished metal trim throughout.
Additional features include power windows, heated seats, power locks, and cruise control. The rear defroster is noted to be inoperable. The seller bought this XJS to use as a daily driver and has added less than 1k of the indicated 43k miles since October 2018.
Under the front-hinged hood is a naturally-aspirated 5.3L V12 which produced 291 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 3-speed automatic transmission. About 3k miles ago new intake and valve cover gaskets were installed, along with new fuel and coolant hoses. Within the past 1k miles the seller had the engine oil/filter changed and new hood struts fitted. Service records indicate that factory recalls for the fuel tank and cruise control were completed at the original selling dealership.
The original window sticker lists a $47,810 retail price and shows that the car was delivered new to Lee West Enterprises/Newport Imports in Newport Beach, California. The original purchase order is depicted in the gallery with a $51,544 total purchase price.
The accident-free Carfax dates back to June 1992 at 12k miles and shows California ownership through 2005 when the vehicle moved to Oregon. Linear odometer progression and a few service history records are also recorded.
