Ebay item 3/20/15 www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-XJS-Base-Coupe-2-Door-Beautiful-Dependable-and-Improved- ...
Opening bid US $4,000, no reserve, no bids 3 days left in auction, buy it now price $5,200.
Sellers description:
I have owned this beauty since 2002 and driven it daily. I hope to find a buyer who will care for the car as much as I have. The paint is in beautiful condition - deep and very shiny, but small spots of rust have very slowly begun to emerge. I am selling the car because I need room in the garage.
Improvements/ Pros
V-12 engine rebuilt in 2000 - very strong; babied; never raced; burns clean, Chassis, at that time had 124K miles.
Newly rebuilt GM T700 4 speed automatic transmission with overdrive using conversion kit, flywheel and drive shaft from John's Cars
Super 60x Stainless Steel Sport Exhaust system (made by Bora, included new downpipes, free-flow catalytic convertors, oxygen sensor ports, tips) from The Driven Man
Polished Alloy Ultra-Performance Flat Blade Dual Electric Fans from V12s
V12 GM GMALT Alternator retrofit from John's Cars - allows for superior and less expensive GM alternators
New custom gas tank; a superb job by local fabricator (2013) matches all inlets and outlets of original (see photo of boot)
Later model 1993 instrument cluster installation
Beautiful later model wooden steering wheel (w/AirBag) and matching gear shift knob (1993?)
Later model seats(1990)
Bilstein and KYB Nitrogen gas Shocks all around (6 of them)
Nice sound system: Pioneer head powers ADS system in back, Boston Acoustics in doors, Kicker HS8 subwoofer lays on the floor behind driver
New AC compressor (2013)
Heavy Duty deep cycle battery (Optima YellowTop)
New steering rack (2013)
upgraded bushings throughout suspension
Chrome wire wheels are excellent: no nicks, rubs, bends
Jaguar Shop Manual
All records from myself and previous owner (Back to 1998)
Full spare on 5th wire wheel
Cons
Driver's seat back seams have separated. Repairable. Bolster edge seam is worn out. Still comfortable. Lumbar bladders and seat heaters still work fine.
Crack in center console
Back seat leather had dried out, seams separated on one side
Hood struts no longer hold up the hood
Cruise control does not function
Rust on front edge/drivers front fender
Scratch on hood
Rust bubble emerging on drivers quarter panel ahead of wheel well
Rust bubble emerging on passenger side front fender behind marker light
Gouge on passenger front fender
Some paint discoloration on boot/trunk lid
