Jaguar Sport XJR-S development car
This car was the first ever XJR-S ever built, the car was originally on the Jaguar production line in 1988 destined to be an American spec car when it was removed and taken to the newly formed Jaguar Sport which was a joint venture between TWR and Jaguar
The car was transformed into the first ever XJR-S and then over the next two years was used as a test bed for new ideas thus the car has many interesting modifications and differences compared to a 'normal' XJR-S
Some of these include a form of ram air for the air filters, it has the dials and trip computer from the 1990 model car fitted into the 1988 dash, it still has the American side repeaters and the 1990 high level brake light, there are also many blanked off extra sensors on the engine, which is also the 6.0 L taken from the 1990 version
I have Emails from Jaguar Heritage and the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club confirming that this is the real deal, the first one.
The best way to see what needs to be done to the car to bring it back to its former glory is to come and have a look for yourself
I have just had a brand new MOT done on the 10th July, there is a full service history, loads of paperwork, the genuine hand books in the original leather binder
I am in no hurry to sell the car and my original intention was to restore the car and keep it but the money would be useful to help fund my new hobby

1988 Jaguar XJR-S 6.0 Prototype/Development car

Although registered in 1990, this car was originally on the Jaguar production line in 1988 being built for the American market. It was removed from the line and taken to the Jaguarsport facility where it was converted into the first XJR-S. The car then spent the next two years being used as a development test bed, this included the fitting of the 6.0 litre engine.There are many extra sensor points on the engine, there is a form of ram air fitted to the air filters, plus many other features that are not on any of the 5.3 litre or any of the later 6.0 litre cars. It has covered just 54,000 miles and comes with a comprehensive service history, owner's manuals, leather wallet, a large file of documentation, receipts and MoTs. The file also contains various magazine articles together with copy letters confirming the vehicle's provenance. Would benefit from straightforward cosmetic refurbishment.
