Factory conversion LHD to RHD
then sold to UK market
Tell tale signs
Large driving light on front wings
Leather patch on Passenger door where togglle switch was.
For sale on eBay UK on January 08, 2013. Now looking very rough and in poor condition. Starting bid is UKL 1000. Listing says "Jaguar XJ-SC 3.6 Manual. 90,000 miles with full service history and folder of photos from previous restoration. In need of a restoration or a freshen up again. Been standing for a while and its got very damp inside. Interior needs replacing but different people have different opinions. Bodywork is pretty sound, with a good polish up it would be pretty acceptable. Please don't think its a brand new one because its not. Jags are not my thing so don't really have a clue about them. Starts and sound really sweet, clutch takes a while to release but seems to drive nice. This car really needs putting inside and drying out and recomisioning, such a shame to see it go to waste. Hood is in great condition, rear window misted but useable, inside roof linings are damp and have sagged as in pictures, interior is generally poor condition. Body seems reasonably solid, all four arches are solid, doors are solid, front valance is solid, inner wings solid, and sills are solid. Has had previous welding in floors etc for its MOTs. Chrome is acceptable, most of it is very good. Paintwork is blistered in places and rust bubbles in places but a good polish would make it acceptable. Personally i think you could clean it up and replace the interior and use it or strip it down for full restoration. All engine and chassis numbers match V5 document. Date of first registration was 01 November 1985. Has had 5 owners from new". Listed on the Xclusively Jaguar International XJ-SC Register. USA Market car with LHD and was later converted to RHD by Jaguar. Ex William Bowler of UK, Devon, Bideford. Letitia Mace did an article on it which was published in the JEC magazine called “George, Coupe to Cabriolet”. The car was rebuilt using the engine and gearbox an other parts from an XJ-S Coupe named “George”, a 3.6 rhd manual back in 2006 and therefore the engine and gearbox numbers are probably different again. For sale again on the CarandClassic.co.uk website on March 15, 2011. Still with the same Seller in North Cornwall. Was last for sale on the CarandClassic.co.uk website on December 23, 2010. Seller was a Car Dealer called Robert Macloughlin Automobiles in North Cornwall. Has 91,000 miles and they are asking UKL 3,250 with some Service History. Jaguar Cars Company Car.
