    Engine No 850817815G
    Chassis No SAJJNAEW3BM178120
    MOT June 2015
    Colour Solent Blue

The 'Le Mans Celebration' XJS was devised to celebrate Jaguar's victorious history at the historic circuit of the same name in Pays de la Loire, France.

The car featured numerous enhancements over standard V12 models including sportier suspension and several cosmetic changes.
Jaguar only made 280 of these special edition cars and this one (numbered 151) was exhibited at the Birmingham Motor Show in September 1990. The fascinating heritage file which is included in the sale has been meticulously assembled by the owner and includes the heritage certificate showing that the car was initially sold by Charles Hurst Jaguar in Belfast. The second owner bought it in 1997 and registered it with the DVLA, hence the date of UK registration being 29th October 1997. The history file contains copies of logbooks from all owners, a run out of all works - service , repair & warranty - completed by Charles Hurst, virtually every MOT and many service invoices. The car has had much recommissioning work completed by the last owner in 2012/2013 with invoices totaling some £3,500.

This handsome and rare car even comes with the original Jaguar brochures and surely offers investment potential.

    Guide Price: £4000 to £5000

Prices for Jaguar’s limited edition ‘Le Mans’ series XJ-S’s are rising significantly of late. Unsurprising if you think about it, as the Brown’s Lane firm launched this very special model to celebrate Jaguar’s famous win at Le Mans in 1990 in the classic purple and white, Silk Cut livery, securing their prominence in Group C sportscars. Limited to 280 cars, they had special edition features which included twin headlights, latticed alloy wheels, sports suspension, embossed Autolux seating and a special numbered plaque on each sill.

Registered as number 151 out of the 280 units made, this example is presented in Solent Blue with a magnolia leather interior. Complete with a High Efficiency (HE) engine giving improved fuel efficiency, this Le Mans model has an history file with it, all contained within a JDHT leather binder. Every single service record, MoT test certificate (including current expiring June 2021) and Jaguar purchase pack as well as ‘The History of the Jaguar XJ-S’ by Den Carlow and a complete XJ-S Mechanics manual. This, however, is something of a running restoration with faded paintwork on the offside front wing and corrosion to the nearside mid and rear sections. Once a Category C insurance claim, it has since been repaired with an Autolign Inspection confirming as such. Additionally, it now has a new 12-month MoT test certificate. The interior is in good order although the driver’s seat requires some renovation. At its heart though, still very much an XJ-S Le Mans.
