Ebay item 10/31/19

www.ebay.com/itm/1985-Jaguar-XJS/333378864088

Opening bid $5,000, no bids 5 days left in auction seller 3milprop, 126k miles, Cleveland, Georgia.

Seller's description:

Up for sale is my 1985, 3.6 Liter, 6 cylinder, factory 5 speed manual, Jaguar, XJS Coupe. Very few models of this XJS were imported into the USA. Now come close and listen. This XJS might even be one of the fabled few imported in the the US for Jaguar executives everyone has heard about. I'll let the experts figure that out. I don't know. What I do know is that this is a very nice, well maintained car. If there's any rust on it, I can't find it. The AC was converted to 134A and not just pumped full and forgotten. The fittings and everything were upgraded. The AC works very well. The car starts right up and runs beautifully. It has more power than you'd expect, and the factory Getrag 5 speed makes it a blast to drive. The gear changes and clutch action are smooth, although the shifter linkage has grown a bit loose (German engineering.) The tires are in great shape. There are no rattles. The seats are soft and supple and in good shape. Those are not cracks in the front seat leather. There is, however, a small hole in the back seat base that looks like something nibbled on it. The headliner is not so good. In several places around the border there is tape. Not being a sewn up headliner, I feel it would be inexpensive to replace. There are also two cracks on the dash. The radio was upgraded to a Sirius receiver. All the glass and their operations have no problems. One of the features I like is that the injection system is very simple (unlike today's cars) with only a few sensors. The fuel injection computer was overhauled recently and carries a lifetime guarantee. The exhaust has a wonderful sound that evokes an E-type. With your leather gloves gripping the custom wood steering wheel, you'll love driving it! This vehicle has a non-standard VIN number because it was imported from Europe. The actual VIN number is SAJJNAEC8CC120361.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
