Auction description:
Lot : 68
1988 Jaguar XJS 3.6 Coupe
Estimate: SOLD for £3300
Registration No: E652XUA
Chassis No: SAJJNAEC3CA150523
Engine No: 9DPAMA148726
CC: 3600
Colour: Signal Red
Trim Colour: Black
MOT: May 2011
Finished in Signal Red with black leather upholstery, this particular example was reportedly treated to "an extensive and expensive professional restoration in 2009 by the present owner". Prior to being given a full respray in its original hue, the bodywork is understood to have received attention to its "inner rear wheelarches, sill ends, floor sections, front / rear quarters and splash panels". While mechanically the Jaguar apparently benefited from the removal and refurbishment of its rear subframe assembly (new mounting rubbers, radius arms, brake discs / seals / pipes), a front suspension overhaul and sundry engine fettling (new oil cooler, thermostat, crank sensor, manifold gaskets, plugs, hoses, V-belts, filters and renewed fuel injectors) not to mention an oil change and engine bay detailing. Riding on rejuvenated lattice alloy wheels, the XJS is said to possess "smooth automatic transmission" and a "sweet running engine with good oil pressure". Further boasting "an excellent original interior" and "unmarked boot area" as well as "service history with old MOTs and original handbooks", we are informed that 'E652 XUA' has previously been "re-registered on two occasions bringing its total number of former keepers to five". Nicely presented and seemingly well looked after during the current ownership, this stylish Jaguar is offered for sale with MOT certificate valid until May 2011 and road tax valid until December 2010.
