Car to be at auction 11/10
www.bonhams.com/cgi-bin/public.sh/pubweb/publicSite.r

Auction description:
Sale 18219 - Collectors' Motor Cars, Motorcycles and Automobilia, 17 Nov 2010
Yorkshire Event Centre, Harrogate
Lot No: 795
1990 Jaguar XJ-S V12 Convertible
Registration no. G182 RHG
Chassis no. SAJJNADW3DB171840
Engine no. 8S076434SB
Estimate: £7,000 - 10,000

We are advised by the vendor that this XJ-S V12 convertible was in good condition when he acquired it in 1997, at which time the odometer reading was 25,000 miles. In 2003 the XJ-S attended the 50th Anniversary celebrations of Jaguar's 1953 Le Mans clean sweep, completing three laps of the circuit, and was in regular use up to 2009 when its owner bought a new Jaguar XKR. Previously registered 'B5 PJR' but now reunited with its original registration, the car comes with invoices totalling some £13,000 for work carried out over the last five years, which has included updated air conditioning, new wheelarches all round and a complete re-spray. Only offered for sale because of space requirements and described by the vendor as in generally good condition, 'G182 RHG' comes with the aforementioned invoices, current road fund licence, MoT to July 2011 and Swansea V5.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
