Auction description:
Lot number 26
Hammer value £3,700
Description Jaguar XJS V12 Convertible
Registration G65 WHP
Year 1989
Colour Metallic Blue
Engine size 5,340 cc
Chassis No. SAJJNADW3DB162171
Engine No. 8S068383SB

First registered in August 1989, this particular car was first owned by Jaguar Cars and has had just three owners since, the last registered keeper having owned it for over five years. The car has covered just 52,025 miles which is backed up by 11 old MOT certificates back to 1996 (at 41,683 miles) and a service book which has five service stamps up to 37,900 miles. Enthusiast maintained since, the car has always been kept garaged in recent years and is said to be in good condition throughout apart from some wear to the base of the driver’s seat.

It comes with all its original handbooks, the original touch-up pen, tonneau cover, hood bag and a CD changer. Very little used in the last couple of years, it is said to run and drive well and has an MOT until January 2011. These really are fabulous cars to drive and this one looks excellent value at the guide price suggested today.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
