Very early Cabriolet built by Tickford & Jaguar Cars. Number 67 of 5,013

Current Owner is from UK, West Midlands, Birmingham, 2017.

Previously for sale by Bryan on eBay UK on May 02, 2014. Has an Unknown Reserve Price and it now says it has 99,000 miles.

Jaguar XJS Super Cat Cabriolet 3.6 XK Twin Cam. This is a very spacial XJS Cabriolet built by Aston Martin Tickford. I have a very rare Jaguar super cat twin cam 3.6 XK Engine with 30 years of competition, a distinguished engineering pedigree sports Cabriolet. One of only 130 built by Aston-Martin-Tickford from 1982-1985 for Jaguar. It's currently for sale contact me if interested. At the moment I have also the Hardtop listed on its own. The photo of the car is with the Soft top on and NOT the Hard Top. This XJ-SC according to the XJ-SC Register, is one of the Aston Martin Tickford XJ-SC's of which none were exported. The A-M Tickford cars were built for the home market and only a few were made in left hand drive. My car is a RHD Manual. Only around 50 cars are know to survive worldwide and this is one of them. Some mystery surrounds the development of these cars. AMT was set up by Aston-Martin to do small production runs of specialist cars - for example the RS 200 and Tickford Capri. They also developed the XJ-SC super cat - although Jaguar only credited them with a small role. Tickford Owners Club says almost all the XJ-SC development was done by AMT. Jaguar archives have no development photos of the project, however the man in charge of development at AMT had a disagreement with Jaguar. AMT production of cars was very slow and Jaguar halted AMT involvement. They took up to 6 months to complete a car. No one at Jaguar or AMT will discuss details of the XJ-SC development however the fact that all the photos are held by AMT (now Tickford owners club) and not by Jaguar tends to suggest Jaguar had very little involvement. The XJ-SC was used by Jaguar to developed the full convertible launched in 1988 under Ford. The XJ-SC is the last of William Lyons and Malcom Sayers great masterpieces, built during Sir John Egans chairmanship of an independent Jaguar - so it is the last True Jaguar sports car. As for my car, it's completely original, and in excellent condition. I have lots of history on this car. Full Service history from new and 19 stamps in the Jaguar Service Book. The very spacial drilled Aluminum finish inside this car still has the plastic coating on it. I believe it is only around 30 of its kind left. Being the 5-speed manual its faster and out performs the V-12 and has excellent fuel economy. I've owned two V-12s and this car is not a fast lazy cruiser it's a true super cat sports car. Aston Martin also modified the chassis of these early cars and it shares the same set up as the DB7 which is based on this car. The engine is well turned for performance and does not have the refinement you normally expect with Jaguars. With the side sports exhaust it's a loud fast car. The Jaguar made cars, even the 3.6 manuals, are more refined but lack the performance of the AMT cars. The back inbound brakes have just had a completely overhaul. New Discs, New Calipers, New Hand Brake Pads, and New Brake Pads. Anyone will know this is a very big job and a lot of people just write the car off when this work needs doing.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
